The set's not hooked to cable or antenna. It picks up only one channel. A very private one. Unlike cable, it always has something good on. No matter the time, whatever is playing is just starting as I tune in. How can this be? It's my video collection. Hi, I'm Jay. An occasional (very) voice actor lurking in the central Ohio hinterlands. And this is Jays' Tee Vee. My little corner of wierdness on the web. Movies, cartoons, anime. Oh yeah! ... WARNING ... Some politics.

Do NOT Vote Early!
Do NOT Vote Early!
I learned my lesson on that.
Just received in the mail an offer from the office of the Ohio Secretary of State to vote early. To hell with that!
I remember the 2008 election when war hero/political zero McCain (Actually I voted for Sara Palin.) ran against our muslim in chief. Bilked into thinking I was doing the smart thing, I went to our county Board of Elections and voted a day early.
The next day, the national vote was hardly counted when McCain (Who I am convinced had no intention of winning.) conceded the election around 10 PM!
A couple days later, I read in the local paper that it was going to take awhile before all the early votes would be tallied.
WHAT THE F---------------------------------------!
I still have that sick feeling that my vote wasn't even counted.
VOTE RIGHT ON ELECTION DAY!
Don't be suckered into an imaginary convenience. Do it on the very day! Get up EARLY and get down to you polling place. If there's a crowd that can be a good thing. Folks don't stand in long lines to vote for the status quo.
I learned my lesson. Don't learn it yourself.
For the first time in a LOOONG time I'm feeling really good about a Republican presidential candidate.
Instead of a Bob Dull, McCain or Romney, that is some political animal/wishy washy stand for nothing business as usual moderate, we have an actual contender with every intention to win and stand for what working folks believe in.
Donald Trump is no politician. He's a hard headed businessman who would run the executive branch and lead the country on sound business principles:
Don't spend more than what you have, make or are getting. Otherwise if your outgo is greater than your income then your upkeep will be your downfall.
Jus' sayin' ...

An Encounter With Evil
An Encounter With Evil
Place: Bible study at a friends' house.
Had an encounter with evil last night. Not the active, predatory kind that breeds criminals and dictators but the kind brought on by cowardice and by faux self righteousness ... The kind where one takes pride in their non-involvement because one thinks one is "above it all" ... Where one won't get their hands dirty as they feel they would somehow be sullied inside for having done so.
The kind where even greater evil is given an easy time because of it.
This ... person ... declared he was not going to vote for Donald Trump. His "excuses" were Mr. Trumps' verbal gaffes and get this ... "That he isn't a man of God".
I and another tried to get through to him, in so many words, that Jesus wasn't running for president and that it would be impossible to find the perfect candidate and that such a contender doesn't exist.
He was adamant and insisted he wasn't going to vote for Mr. Trump.
At the moment I was under the impression he was going to vote third party and kept trying to tell him that a vote against Clinton was in effect a vote FOR Clinton.
It was later he revealed later in the meeting he probably wasn't going to vote at all. More on that later.
The owner of the house intervened and said politely for all of us calm down or we would have to leave. We all were trying to talk over one another and getting nowhere.
I blame myself. Not for having "stood up" but for in not having realized I had let myself get inadvertently dragged into a needless argument.
Never get into an argument with someone like that. He will take you down to his level and beat you with experience.
The bible study continued for a little longer then went back to discussion. The guy then brought up the subject again only this time, at the homeowners' advice, kept a level tone.
It was then he stated he probably wasn't going to vote at all.
The others looked at me and I stated:
"I consider the opinion of one who will not vote as invalid ... case closed."
In other words ... If you don't vote, you have NO right to complain or even speak about it.
He wasn't happy with that.
I ignored him for the rest of the meeting and left early.
I have encountered people like this before. They won't vote but they'll leave it to God to decide. This is the kind of non-mentality that got Jimmy Carter elected and Obama a second term.
This is the kind of non-mentality that will hand the election over to that goblin running against Mr. Trump and that creature will be in a better position to wreck the country than her predecessor.

Tell anyone like that in no uncertain terms that you will NOT discuss politics or socio-economic matters with them if they don't vote.
In November ...
GET OUT AND VOTE.

Ignorance

Ignorance
It's the late '90s and I'm stuck working in a place where my "fellow" employees are NOT the brightest Western Civilization has to offer. I'm talking with one fool about voting.
"VOTING!?" She exclaimed. "NO WAY! I DON'T VOTE!"
"Why?"
"THEY'RE ALL CROOKS!"
"How do you know they're ALL crooks?"
"THEY'RE ALL CROOKS!"
"It's not just candidates and politicians on the ballot. You also can vote on issues, levys, and on taxation. Don't you want to at least have a say in that?"
"THEY'RE ALL CROOKS!"
"Is that the only reason for not voting?"
"DON'T WANNA' GET ON JURY DUTY!"
"It's not just voter registration lists. Juries are also selected from licensed driver lists. You can still end up on a jury."
Short pause.
"THEY'RE ALL CROOKS!"
I suppressed the urge to kick my heavy booted foot in the dolphin tattoo on her ankle.
People who don't vote: THEY'RE ALL CROCKS!
Just sayin' ...
