Princess Tutu: REAL MEN WATCH IT!

Princess Tutu: REAL MEN WATCH IT!

My masculinity has been called into question. HNNNNGH!

Over a week ago, I posted on my blog a Hell Girl fanfic story, Unlikely Avenger, having to do with the Kennedy assassination. A so-called "friend" by the name of Keith von Sulzer, expressed interest so I pointed the story out to him.

A couple days later, he informed me he read the story and liked it. But ... there was something else he saw on my blog main page he was not too crazy about.

"So what's this gay anime you're watching?"

"What!?"

"Y'know ... THAT ... gay anime."

"Gay ... anime?"

"You know ... An anime that's gay."

"Uh ... yuh ... right!"

"Why are you watching something like that?"

"I'm not watching anything gay, anime or otherwise."

"Sure you are," said the miscreant grinning. "And it gives me some doubts about you."

"NOW JUST A MINUTE!"

The conversation/accusation continued while I racked  my brain (Man that hurts!) trying to figure out what show he was going on about. Since he's not one to go beyond my blogs' main page, I figured it had to be something within a few past articles. Then it hit me (That hurts too!).

"Wait a sec ... You don't mean ... Princess Tutu?"

"Yeah! That's it."

"NOW JUST A MINUTE!"

Now I ask you ... Does this look gay to you? It's not. It's ...
something else. Yeah ... Uh ... something else ... maybe ...

The conversation/accusation went on, I insisting Princess Tutu ... and I ... weren't gay and he talking of the possibility that Princess Tutu ... and that I, because I liked it ... might be "a little light in the loafers".

Needless to say the conversation kept NOT going well.

He clocked out of work grinning and me snarling.

Gentlemen ... That is those of you who like the anime, Princess Tutu ...

Get your tutus on (METAPHORICALLY SPEAKING!) and say it loud and proud:

REAL MEN WATCH PRINCESS TUTU!

Indeed ...

Unlikely Avenger: A Hell Girl Fan Fiction Story

Unlikely Avenger: A Hell Girl Fan Fiction Story

by

C V Ford

"My husband ... unfaithful ... And so blatant about it. Even having his trysts right here in our home! His philandering's been going on for years and is so dismissive towards me over it ... Mocking me. He's on top of the world right now ... Everyone adores him. If only the people knew. His popularity's made him think he's the next best thing to God. Thinks nothing can touch him ..."

"Your wish?"

"I want you to touch him ... HARD! Take him straight to HELL! A hell far worse than what he's put me through."

xxxxx

The drive from the large municipal airport uneventful but for the swelling, adoring crowds of wellwishers and fans. Sidewalks crowded beyond capacity, filled with those wanting to get a look at what they thought to be more than a dream for what almost amounted a "new heavens and a new earth". Celebrity of messiah-like dimensions. This man of the hour/decade/millenium. A demi-god of hope for what more than hinted at a "second coming".

She knew better. The publicity of skilled writers and handlers covered up what would have belied the sterling image of the nations' perfect family man. Definitely NOT the saint everyone thought him. An adulterer of the first water ... and flaunting it before her out of sight of the eyes of a smitten public. If they only knew.

Sitting next to him in the back of the open topped car, she smiled and waved, helping to shore up an already more than sturdy facade. The masses needed a continuous feeding as the couples' publicity section constantly reminded them of it.

Contemplating the events of the past few weeks, she went over her present situation.

It was during a visit with her husbands' sister (The wife of a well known film actor.) in Los Angeles. Waiting at the airport terminal for the limos' arrival, she spotted a copy of the Asahi Shimbun newspaper carelessly dropped on an end table. It wasn't so much the indecipherable (To her.) three alphabet script of the page that caught her attention as it was the bold print ad in the center ... In plain English:

WE WILL TAKE VENGEANCE ON YOUR BEHALF. YOUR GRIEVANCE SHALL BE AVENGED

With following text, describing particulars.

She asked the accompanying matron of her two children the meaning of the ad. The governess replying about seeing only a blank space. Odd.

Folding the paper, she slipped it into a shopping bag.

Later in the day, she inquired the same of an aquaintance only to get the same answer. She slipped the curious object in a dresser drawer on arrival back home.

It was much later a mansion staffer told her that page the "advertisement" appeared on was part of the missing persons' section.

Two days before, after a particularly heated spousal arguement over her husbands' dalliances, her thoughts turned to the newspaper and acted on the ads' instruction.

It wasn't as if she could actually send the request. She couldn't just affix a stamp to it and drop it in the mail without security being able to scrutinize it. And the "nebulous" address certainly didn't ensure actual receipt of the letter.

No ... It was only a form of therapy for her ... a relief valve for letting off emotional pressure. She would place it in her dresser drawer as a futile reminder.

On sealing the envelope ...

She let out a startled gasp on noticing the sudden presence to her right.

She almost immediately called security just outside the mansion suites' door but something told her the black clad adolescent and the provocative looking woman with her were not an immediate threat ... and may have had something to do with the strange advertisement.

A not so short conversation confirmed it and the bargain was struck. It was all she could do to keep from screaming as the transformation process from geisha to red straw doll in hand took place.

As the car and accompanying escort/motorcade turned right, nagging second thoughts from the past twenty four hours came to the fore. As a devout Catholic, she had to do everything in her power to make her marriage work. Had she done so? Had she exhausted every venue to repair the rift made by her husband and bring him to fidelity? And the covenant made with that strange harbinger ... so ... final. Canceling out and replacing one mortal sin with another. An irreversible one.

The column of vehicles rounding to the left and downhill, she made her decision.

She would make one more try at saving their marriage. Find some other way to resolve this problem in their lives.

Opening her purse, she checked for the now not needed straw doll she had placed there but a day before.

Missing.

Her husbands' clutching at his throat, gagging and falling toward her turned her attention to him. Reaching, she drew him near. A sharp, cracking report coming but a moment after. The man in the car seat in front, looking on attentively, jerked as well from an impact also accompanied by a repeat of that same sound.

Trying to undo the tie and shirt collar button, her husbands' head jerked sharply back, a fine spray of red mist hanging momentarily. She gasped, noticing a flap of scalp and hair hanging off his heads' right side.

... she controlled her panic and climbed over the back seat,
helping one of the foot security men onto the cars. rear deck.

Seeing there was nothing she could do for the moment, she controlled her panic and climbed over the back seat, helping one of the foot security men onto the cars' rear deck.

The motorcade sped up, leaving the planned route and racing for the nearest hospital.

xxxxx

After a thorough check of the hospitals' rest room, the woman was left alone, the all male security staff guarding just beyond the door.

Splashing cold water to her face, a heretofore prescence again made itself felt.

Turning toward the girl and tall woman she tearfully asked.

"Why ... Why did you ... I didn't-"

"It was not our doing," the pale one answered. "Having done so would have been quite different and your husband would never have been found."

"Then what-"

"Your covenant with me was broken on your relenting. The actions taken were by another not known to us. His dark thoughts, if any ... are his alone."

"But if-"

"Your time is long and you have much to do. Your destiny in eternity is again open. You may yet know the joys of Heaven. Your heart must, however, change. Perhaps your own holymen may be able to tell you how." (1)

?

"And you may also yet-," the provacative looking one speaking for the first time, "-again find love in the arms of another. One more caring and attentive."

"Ma'am!" Medium rapping at the door by a Secret Service man. "Is everything all right?"

"Yes!" Turning toward the door. "I'm ... I'm fine. Be out in a minute."

Turning back, only the restroom tiles and empty stalls met her vision.

1. This is an explaination of the plan of salvation God has provided for the individual. Usually referred to as "The Roman Road" (Most of the verses are from the Book of Romans.).

Romans 3:10-12 10)As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one: 11) There is none that understands, there is none that seeks after God. 12) They are all gone out of the way, they are altogether become unprofitable; there is none that does good., no, not one.

Psalms 14:3 - They are all gone aside, they are altogether become filthy: there is none that does good, no, not one.

Romans 3:23 - For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God;

No one is blameless. If you have trouble wrapping your mind around this, think of it as you would an illness or physical condition. It is a state which we are born under.

Romans 5:12 - Wherefore , as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:

The how and why we are that way. Adam is the reason we're under the weight of sin and trapped in this deadly cycle of entropy, decay and death.

Romans 5:8 - But God commends his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.

Romans 6:23 - For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Jesus is the way out. The other side of the equation. With our acknowledgement of our sinbound state we can go on to have the Lord correct that.

Romans 10:13 - For whosover shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.

Romans 10:9-10 - 9) That if you shall confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus, and shall believe in your heart that God has raised him from the dead, you shall be saved. 10) For with the heart man believes to righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made to salvation.

This is the how in regard to Jesus. Do these and the cycle has no spiritual claim on you.

Revelation 3:20 - Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.

Jesus is waiting for you to answer. He has been there all along knocking. It could be you just didn't (Or didn't want to.) hear it.

John 3:16 - For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

Of course, it goes without saying, "Go and sin no more". I really stink at this. However, one should always keep going back and asking the Lord for guidance and strength to resist (It's called prayer.). This is what's known as repentance, an active turning away from giving in to ones' baser instincts and it's an ongoing thing.

For guidance I strongly suggest one get in touch with a strong bible believing pastor/church in your area.

A Visit to the Vet: An Azumanga Diaoh/Hell Girl Crossover Fanfiction Story

A Visit to the Vet: An Azumanga Diaoh/Hell Girl Crossover Fanfiction Story

by

C V Ford

"I'm so glad you were hired back Miss Sekimoto."

"Thank you Junko," the nurse replied. "You have no idea how good that is to hear coming from you."

"Oh?"

"I should have intervened. I should have gotten Dr. Honjo away from the phone. Your dog-"

"It's okay ... really," Junko reassured. "You were new ... your first job ... you didn't really know about Dr. Honjo and-"

"I knew enough,"  Masami cut in. "I knew from the nurse who worked for him before I started. He even threatened to sue her if she didn't stop telling others. Word was getting around about him. He ..."

"You didn't really know. Like you said, you were just starting your first job ... It was a few days wasn't it?"

"Yes ... But then ... I could tell right off Honjo wasn't what you'd call happy with being a veterinarian. If only I ... "

"It's all right," the young lady said. "It's a broken world. A lot of Dr. Honjos in it."

Masami Sekimoto appraised the girl before her. Junko Kanno matured a lot in the few short years since thier "investigation" of the negligent veterinarian and his disappearance.

"Happily, there's a lot of Dr. Sakakis to balance them out."

"Oh God! She's a wonder to work for. You know, she stays overnight at least twice a week with a patient or two. She really does care about them. Sleeps on a cot in the kennel rooms."

"Really?"

"With her, this place sure has improved since Honjo took off."

"Took ... off ... Yeah."

"What's wrong?" Asked Masami, noticing Junko suddenly quiet and glancing at the floor in a resigned manner.

"It's ... nothing," the teen answered, just as suddenly looking back up, a forced smile on her face.

Every day being a constant reminder of having made that dreadful descision thus separating herself forever from the divine. And NO ONE, not even Masami, could know.

After Dr. Honjos' "disappearance", the Gold Veterinary Clinic lay fallow only a few months. The young, up and coming Sakaki couldn't believe her incredible luck finding a ready made facility with a comparitively low lease. Friends/family as well as a surprisingly sympathetic Savings and Loan, made the dream possible.

Along with the holding company, glad to make something of the property, the other businesses in the area thought it cursed. The young, new veterinarian attributed that to the late Dr. Honjos' declining reputation. With her passionate love of animals and outright enthusiasm, she put that curse to rest and within a short time, gained a reputation as an excellent, first rate animal physician. She more than cared about her charges and it wasn't hard for everyone to take notice.

"Here she is!" Dr. Sakaki, with a smile, came through the examination rooms' entrance way carrying Minty, Junkos' miniature beagle. "Everything checks out."

Petting the tail wagger, the vet set the dog on the wide counter in front of Junko. The girl put off almost a year before getting Minty. She thought she couldn't bear having another pet for the rest of her (Hopefully LONG.) life. As the months passed and resistance ebbed, she finally decided. A chance ad on a convenience store bulletin board regarding a litter of beagle pups sealed it.

"How much do I owe you doctor?"

"Well, it was only an examination ... mmmm ... Let's just save it for when she needs her boosters in about six months."

"Oh! Why thank you doctor, you're-"

A low commotion at the front cut the discussion, the two noting a trio entering, both being brought up short though for different reasons.

Coming in, an older man and little girl, dressed in traditional garb, along with an adolescent girl in school uniform. The little one carrying a gray furred bundle.

"Is ... Is it time? Has she come to  ...?" Junko was almost in a panic, thoughts of ultimate dread racing through her mind.

With Dr. Sakaki, it was, "I KNOW this cat!"

"My grand daughters cat needs uh ... Yes! ... A checkup," the older fellow stated.

"MY KITTY! Hee hee hee!" The small one exclaimed.

Junko grabbed Minty as she started growling at the cat.

"I ... I'll see you later doctor," the girl said as she sidled toward the door.

Junko felt a slight tug on her elbow sleeve, heart leaping to her throat. Turning, she inadvertently looked straight into the unwavering, red irised visage of the "middle schooler".

"Worry not," the pale one said in a whispery tone audible only to the girl. "Your time is long and you have much to do."

Junko nodded and nervously left, though infinitely relieved.

"They must know each other," thought Sakaki as her mind scrutinised the black clad newcomer. "Poor thing ... so pale. Must be albino with those red eyes. Dyed her hair so as not to stand out so much. No schools in the area with that uniform. And as for you ..."

This COULDN'T be the same cat ...

This COULDN'T be the same cat. It was a few years since so the one she was thinking of wouldn't look this young. Though ...

It had the same impish, happy/hostile look about it as it peered at the vet from the shelter of the little girls' arms. Like it was delighted at the prospect of taking a bite out of someone ... ANY ONE. Come to think of it ... So did the little girl!

That "look" on both came off as Dr. Sakaki went back into professional mode.

"Well then," said the doctor as the girl handed the cat over, "let's have a look at you."

There was a difference this time and the feline more than knew it. No hesitancy and an air of overpowering confidence could be sensed. Something told him it wasn't a good idea to bite. Thoughts and the faint scent of that "other cat" were also prominent.

He only growled slightly on recieving his vaccination.

xxxxx

Wanyudo settled the bill with Miss Sekimoto as the doctor, coming out of the examination room and petting the cat with ease, put it in Kikuris' arms.

You know," turning to the old man. "I scanned him and found he doesn't have an ID chip. It would be a good idea for him to have one. He doesn't strike me as one who would keep a tag collar on for long."

"Uh ... That's ... ," Wanyudo replied, having no idea what she was referring to. "We'll give it some thought."

"Is ... Is he Okay?" Kikuri asked concerned, noting the cat tense yet subdued.

"Perfectly fine," the doctor answered. "Most pets are nervous coming to the vet."

Dr. Sakaki watched as the trio and cat left. The three didn't look like they were related at all and if it wasn't for the fact several years passing, she would swear it was the same malicious cat from her high school days.

No ... only coincidence.

xxxxx

"So the Miss is pleased how things turned out?"

Ren and Hone Onna sat on the porch, listening to Wanyuudos' account.

"The cat was the perfect pretext," the 'old man' replied. "And yes, the Miss is quite pleased."

"It bodes well for her when something good comes out of an assignment," said Ren.

"Interesting the 'client' was there," the geisha remarked.

Glancing at Kikuri near porch end petting the animal, Wanyuudo paused.

"Only ... coincidence."

With You All the Way: An Angel Beats/Hell Girl Crossover Fanfiction

With You All The Way

An Angel Beats/Hell Girl Crossover Fanfiction

by

C V Ford

"Attention ... Jotaro Taniguchi repeat ... Jotaro Taniguchi ... Please report to 'the office' immediately ... Jotaro Taniguchi ..."

Though here over a month, the young man still couldn't help but marvel. Yurippe paging him on the schools' PA system? It was amazing the things one could get away with when Angel wasn't there to directly intervene. Even the faculty staff was as passive as the student npcs without their nemesis' presence. Not that he & other members of Battle Front would "abuse the privilege". The primary "mission" of resistance always being foremost in their minds.

Taking the steps up to Class Bs' third floor, Jotaro mulled over the events of before & after his arrival.

Over three months previous, he entered into a covenant with the Hell Girl. His schools' principal had been making life an almost literal hell, not only for some students but their families as well. His political connections made him virtually immune to any efforts to unseat him from his position. Even Jotaros' own father, the chief of police in their small town, feeling the pressure from those connections, could do nothing.

Taking matters into his own hands, the young man put them into those of the Hell Girl & undid the thread.

Being an adolescent, the concepts of death & eternity held little meaning. Despite having met the harbinger of doom that was Hell Girl, the finality of damnation was far from him. After all, his whole life was ahead ...

That finality was brought home when he met the Hell Girl a second time. From the findings in his hasty "research" skimming through the Shibata book & others, he knew there were only two ways one could meet her. Either from entering into a covenant of vengeance (Already done.) or when she came to ... collect.

In  his haste & fear while turning to flee, he tripped over his own feet & in a tumble down a flight of stairs, his neck was broken ... killing him instantly.

In a flurry of events after, he awoke, surrounded by students of this strange, otherworldly school. Two of which, Hinata & Otonashi, quickly hustled him off to what he later learned was the principals' former office & informed of the ins & outs of his & their situation. In his desire to get his bearings & situate himself, he reluctantly allowed himself induction into this curious resistance group, the Battle Front.

His proficiency with a handgun (Thanks to his sessions at the police range with his father.) astounded his fellow Front members. They felt they could have used him on their last raid only days before his arrival.

He was sure that's what his requested presence was about. It being about a months' passing, it was near time for another "meal ticket run". Members of their underground "guild" ate ... a lot.

He rounded the corner from the top floor stairwell & proceeded down the hall to the office door. With the uttered "There is no God, Buddha, or angel", he opened the door & entered.

"I must be an early arrival," his first thought.

Only three other people in the room. Yuri obviously. He could see her left elbow resting on the arm of the desk chair, its back to the rest of the room. It was the other two who got his attention.

Sitting/leaning on the right forward desk corner, arms folded, a tall, grinning young man looking more college age. Though he wore the khaki blazer/black pants of the male SSS, Jotaro had never seen him before. It was possible there were some members he hadn't met yet but he was here over a month ...

The other caught even more of his attention. A very striking woman sat on the desks' other corner filing her nails ... clad in the uniform of a school nurse.

"Nurse?" He thought puzzled. "Why would there be a nurse HERE of all places? Nobody gets sick & injuries heal in no time at all. 'Dying' you only come back. Might as well have an undertaker as a nurse. Just as logical."

His eyes almost left their sockets as the chair behind the desk spun slowly around. The blue & white girls SSS fuku clothed a frame smaller than Yuris'. More that of a middle schooler. It was topped by a luxuriant mane of straight black hair framing a pale, serene visage centered with a pair of arresting red eyes.

He spun round, fully intending a more than hasty exit, only to find his way blocked by an older man clad in maintenance staff coveralls. A man he immediately recognized as the black straw doll stand-in from a few months before.

"Not so fast bud," Wanyudo warned. "Business to discuss."

"A deal's a deal," the young man at the desk stated.

"Payment delayed IS payment denied." Hone Onna knew this more so than anyone.

Jotaro fought down his panic as best he could. His inadvertent evasion of them now proved too good to be true. They were here to take him to ..."

"O ... K ... al... right ..." Hoping to stall. "Then ... Let's get it over with."

He did his best to keep his knees from shaking. His thoughts turned to the Colt .45 copy in his waistband. Would it be possible to ... ?

"Let's not be so hasty," chided the bone woman.

"He certainly does jump to conclusions doesn't he miss?" Ren asked rhetorically, glancing at the seated Ai.

Taniguchi glanced around at each one then settled back on the Hell Girl.

"Conclusions? ... Wait ... aren't you here to ... I mean ..."

"As much as we'd like to, we can't." The man at the door said.

"Can't?" His hope sprang.

"We can't touch you even if you uh ... 'die' here," the ersatz nurse stated. "Most frustrating."

"These things happen sometimes," explained Ren. "We can only get you when you 'leave'."

"What we do is wait," said Wanyudo. "We're good at waiting."

Still looking at the pale apparition behind the desk, Jotaro asked, "is that possible? I thought that-"

For the first time, the pale one spoke. "Even ... in eternity ... there are boundries ... He ... who even our master serves has set them so."

"Boundries?"

"Yes," she replied. "There are places even we can't go."

"But you're ..."

"Only to leave a message," Hone Onna explained. "We feel we owe you that much."

"Owe!?"

Jotaro was now really confused. Why would ANY of them, especially the Hell Girl, feel they had any obligation toward him?

"Yes," said Ren. "Normally we'd let something like this slide until the right time but as your case was much less ambiguous than most ..."

It dawned on the young man what was happening. He had read in Shibatas' book how the Hell Girl was less than enthusiastic in her never ending task. How it brought little satisfaction in consigning people to the netherworld, especially for the pettiest of reasons. Many times for seemingly no reason at all.

But his situation. The man he pulled the thread on was pure dead bang evil. A physical abuser (In every sense of the term.) of children, many were Jotaros' friends. An amoral predator using his political connections in avoiding arrest. More than one hushed conversation was heard between the teens' parents how pressure from above kept this creature from justice.

He also read how the Hell Girl herself may also have been a victim due to abuse of higher authority. If so ...

"So ... " He nervously scanned the room again. "The message would be ...?"

"A short one," the bone woman replied.

He looked at the "nurse".

"Try not to gain contentment or fulfillment."

"Already knew that."

"What you didn't know," countered Ren, "was that we could claim you if you did."

"True ... I thought I might be home free."

The young man paused. At least he was safe from them. For now.

He turned to the Hell Girl. A question to be asked.

"Would it be possible to tell me who pulled the thread on ME?"

"No one."

That brought him up short.

"If no one did then why-"

"It was merely your time."

"My time!? But ... you ... you were-"

"Sometimes," the older man at the door interrupted, "our coming to claim becomes a ... What is it? ... Yes! ... What they call a ... 'self fulfilling prophecy.'"

Jotaro glanced down at the floor & assessed. The irony of his being here felt heavy. How unfair this had all turned out. And yet ... They at least had the goodness to warn him.

"At any rate," he declared, "I doubt I'll find peace here now that I know what's waiting. Thanks for telling me."

"There is another way."

He turned again to the pale girl behind the desk.

"You may want to leave ..."

"I doubt that. I-"

"One day ... You may become weary of this place ... "

Jotaro stumbled, almost falling as Matsushita grabbed him by the shoulder, steadying him.

"So ... There you are!" Yuri exclaimed from behind the desk. "'Bout time you got here."

Taniguchi gazed about, bewildered. All the main fighters as well as Girldemo present. All looking at him just as puzzled.

"Yes ... I ..." Blinking hard & shaking his head several times in an attempt to clear his mind.

"You all right?"

He looked toward the Leader.

"Yes ... I'm ..."

"Sure about that buddy?" Hinata looking concerned.

"Yes! Of course!." He stated turning his gaze back to Yuri. "Heard you on the PA, got here as fast as I could."

"PA?"

"Yes I-"

"I didn't use the PA."

"Could have sworn ... Once I got the word, I went straight here."

"Still the last one in. Penalty!" Her right index pointed like a gun.

"Where did I see/hear THAT before?" He thought. Aloud he asked, "penalty?"

"Well discuss that later. Right now, it's operations briefing."

With that, Briefing Manager activated & the session was on.

----------------------------------------

Session over, the various attendees filed out. They were to gather back here in a few hours for a final run down before Op start.

Jotaro walked up to Yuri & Noda as they were leaving. As they moved through the door he spoke.

"Yurippe?" He noticed the mild annoyance on the Leaders face on hearing that name/title.

"What's on your mind Taniguchi?"

"Remember when I was accepted in? I expressed some doubts about this set-up ... this situation we're in?"

Both Leader & Noda stopped in the hallway facing him.

"Yes I do," she replied with some emphasis. "Feet a bit cold?"

"No ... I just want to let you know ... " He glanced at Noda then back to the Leader. "... All of you ...

Kikuri gazed fascinatedly on the large web at porches' end for what seemed hours. Her childs' mind unable to get around her obsessive attachment to the creature residing within. The large spider had been absent for over a day, her concern evident.

A movement some distance to the left turned her attention from the web directing it down the cart trail. Coming up the path she could see Miss Ai & ...

"Oh!" She cried in semi-sadistic glee. "Old lady's back!"

Hone Onna grimaced. Though glad the assignment over sooner than expected, she now had to cope with the attentions of "little miss nasty" & her pre-juvenile antics.

"Don't you have someone else to play with Kikuri ... -CHAN?" Putting emphasis on the pause & honorific. "I think I saw Yamawaro down the road a moment ago-"

"Waro! Waro! Waro! Waro!" The imp sped past down the cart trail, arms "airplaning" & disappeared past the turn.

"Truly the daughter of darkness," observed Wanyudo reclining on the porches' other end.

"You may not be far off on that," replied the bone woman.

Ai looked on disapprovingly though agreed inwardly. At times the child was quite a couple handsful & could be more trouble than she was worth.

Ren, seated on the steps, made an observation. "As we're all still here, I take it she didn't go through with it."

Ai hesitated. Yes. True, but more complicated.

"Her hatred was more than enough to summon me ... something ... else."

The trio looked on as she stepped inside. Mayhap e-mail had another request.

Kaorin stepped briskly into the schools' main entrance, swinging her satchel in lighthearted rythym to her tread. A great weight had been lifted. She would not commit herself to the proposed bargain & the source of her years long torment would live ... And so would she.

The possibility of eternity in hell hadn't deterred her. She had been through a self inflicted one for almost three years. With over a nights' worth of considerable thought & soul searching, she faced the reality of it being of her own making & came to terms. With determination, it could be dealt with.

Rounding corner, she espied the slack jawed apparition staring her way from down the other end of the hall.

"As for you," she thought. "You're damn lucky something like you isn't worth such pain. There's too many like you for me to tear myself up over. A few more months til graduation & I'm out of here ... And you'll be out of my life ... forever."

Marching past the creepy litt teacher, she made it an obvious point to ignore his earnest/lame greeting. Her thoughts turned to the object of her years long obsession, a tear forming.

No. Though what she wanted would never be, she wouldn't ... COULDN'T ... bring herself to pull the string on Sakaki ... ever.

Ohayou Welcomes You: A Hell Girl Fan Fiction

Ohayou Welcomes You

A Hell Girl Fan Fiction

by

Manipulating the paddle-tiller, the pale, seemingly young one sighed as she surveyed the area about. This was not the usual & she should have felt glad when the God of Hell informed her that the "clients'" special request was granted. And yet ...

The doomed one bolted upright from the boats' keel & no further. Arms & legs held firmly in place by the litch talons emerging from the vessels' very wood grain. He knew his fate was sealed on gazing into the unblinking pale countenance of his captor. His inability to speak soon overcome & speak he did.

"This! ... Impossible! ... You ... This ... can't be real!"

"I ... am as real as any-"

"No! ... You're not! Your're-"

"I'm-"

"A fantasy! A television show ... a cartoon ... I ... even wrote ..."

His memories reassembled, congealing back to completeness & he reviewed. Coming back to him. Yes ... A fan of anime. Perhaps too much so ... Wrote fan fiction on various shows. Put them on his blog & "self published" on fanfiction dot net ... LOTS of them.

"But if you're ... WHY ME!?"

Things focused even clearer. Yes. He remembered now. He wrote a story about this very character & series. Like all his others he put some care into it & was thus well written ... unlike many of the works of other would-be authors on the net.

As luck would have it, he ran afoul of just such an author who had earlier written a story with a superficially similar plot & story line. In a private message, the writer had all but accused him of plagiarism.

Looking at the earlier work he noted that while the plotline was VERY roughly alike, it was nowhere nearly as well written, detailed & involved as his. In some places half coherent, in others tedious & tepid. Not to mention the bad grammer & punctuation/spelling mistakes. The interlaced, "obligatory" yuri subplot was of no help either.

Unknowingly, he had succeeded where the other had failed. The high view count along with the many reviews, faves, alerts, C2s & followings he got attested to that in contrast to the others' miniscule results.

In answer, he replied he had no knowledge of the previous work AND had no intention of deleting his story from the communal site. When the other repeated his original "charge", it was jokingly suggested the fellow summon up Hell Girl & "pull the string on me".

And now ... Wait!

He looked away from the kimono clad pale one & scanned the water about. This was not the shows' dark, stagnant, rock studded expanse with floating paper lanterns lighting the way. A huge, rolling waterway was before him. Ships could be seen in the distance. Tankers, freighters, ore carriers. Not far off, a bell buoy tolled its' call in tune with the waves. Gulls soaring overhead ...  Just like in his story.

Following the flight of the birds, his eyes rested on a sight chilling him farther inward than his very marrow allowed ... To the inverse depths of his now beyond damned soul.

As in his story ... He now ... more than knew ... Knew there were places making Hell seem mild. Making perdition even seem like Heaven in comparison.

"No! ... No! ... Nooooooo! ... You can't! ... Even the god of Hell can't be this cruel! You-"

"This ... is vengeance ... So I am to ferry you to-"

"Not that! ... Not this! ... I ... Anything .... ANYTHING but ... CLEVELAND!"

Twice the Child of Hell: A Hell Girl/Azumanga Daioh Crossover Fanfic

Twice the Child of Hell

A Hell Girl/Azumanga Daioh Crossover Fanfic

by

C V Ford

From the porch steps, Miss Ai looked out over the twilit scarlet expanse, lightly heaving an aprehensive sigh. It had been almost a week with nary a request/assignment. Almost unheard of considering the broken world & humankinds' thirst for vengeance.

A "miracle" ... almost. Miracles weren't allowed here.

As much as she & the others welcomed this unexpected rest, the knowledge of a sooner or later abrupt ending put a damper on enjoyment. The tension of "waiting for it" increased on every uneventful days' passing.

"The stress is obviously affecting the Miss," remarked Ren as he joined Honne Onna under the tree across the cart trail. "The longer this spell lasts, the more trouble it seems."

"Speaking of which," the Bone Woman replied. "Here comes trouble ..."

"Cliche ... but apt," as the relic spirit glanced down the trail.

Coming up the tree shrouded path, Yamawaro with Kikuri ... carrying something.

"Oh ... wonderful." It wasn't she disliked cats. The geisha actually loved them. But as it was with Kikuri ...

"So where have you young ones been?" Called Wanyudo from the far end of the porch.

"The princess decided to go THERE. I couldn't let her go by herself ..."

"If she jumped off a cliff," Hone Onna muttered, "would you ... never mind."

Ren grinned, "that's two cliches."

Ai cocked her head slightly, pointing at the gray furred bundle in Kikuris' arms.

"It followed us home!" The little imp enthused. "Can we keep it?"

"And ... three!" Ren declared.

"We were going down a side street when we saw this really tall girl petting it. As we passed, it spun around & bit her then ran off. Kikuri ran after & caught it. I think some blood was drawn."

"By the cat or the kid?" Asked the geisha.

Ren suppressed a laugh while Wanyudo smiled from the porch.

Was it ... SMILING at her?

Ai was about to answer Kikuri in the negative when the cat deftly leaped from the little girls' arms to where the Hell Girl now sat on the porch steps. The creature peered up into her eyes & scrutinized. Was it ... SMILING at her?

She reached over & proceeded to stroke the animals' soft fur. It started rubbing up against her leg, purring loudly.

"Be careful Miss Ai," Yamawaro warned. "He's a biter."

They all watched for half a minute as Ai gave the cat the attention it sought.

"Usually any creature wandering here doesn't stay very long," Ren thought aloud. "I wonder ..."

The cat brusquely turned its attention from Ai, walking to the front door & peered in.

"Kitteee hee, hee, hee!" Kikuri ran past Ai after the cat. On its' part, the animal lowered into a playful crouch as if to spring & did ... Into the little girls' arms. She hugged the creature close.

"They seem made for each other," stated Wanyudo.

"Too much so," observed Hone-Onna. "This may not bode well."

Ren looked over at the Bone Woman. "How can you-"

An all too familiar phrase sounded from within the interior of the cottage.

"Ai ... You have a message."

In resignation, Ai answered. "Thank you grandmother."

The geisha answered Ren. "See?"
